Trying to keep up with new social media trends is hard enough let alone the various social media image sizes across all the different platforms! Just as you have some measurements in mind, oop, they change again!
So, a fresh new year calls for a fresh 2023 guide to social media image sizes. To keep your feeds looking professional I have complied the current sizes for: Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, Twitter and YouTube, all in one handy place – see the full list below!
Profile image: 180 x 180*
Note: Facebook profile images will upload square and automatically crop circle therefore be mindful what content may get cropped out and review after uploading
Cover image: 820w x 312h
Feed / shared image: 1200w x 630h
Stories: 1080w x 1920h
Profile image: 320 x 320*
Note: Instagram profile images will upload square and automatically crop circle therefore be mindful what content may get cropped out and review after uploading
Cover image: n/a
Instagram photos: 1080 x 1080
Or landscape: 1080w x 566h
Of portrait: 1080w x 1350h
Note: For landscape and portrait images, keep in mind what content will be automatically cropped off in your grid once posted
Stories/reels: 1080w x 1920h pixels
Profile image: 400 x 400*

*Recommended sizes are minimums and particularly for profile pictures I’d suggest to go a little larger (keeping the same ratio), to future-proof and ensure good quality imagery across all platforms
Keep in mind cover photos are cropped differently on mobile and desktop. Once uploaded be sure to view your profile on both displays before finalising
Images with logos or text will work best when uploaded as a PNG file
